Can I also just note how vehemently I hate this bullshit 2P AU? I know the designs are canon for nyotalia, blah blah blah, but I give no fucks. I think the AU surrounding it is stupid as fuck and I am so tired of hearing about it, like it's the edgiest, coolest, only valid thing to happen to Hetalia 5EVA.

Actually, this is technically how canon updates have always worked, it just happened behind the scenes before and was performed by interns. Characters can't just get shipped home and come back with new memories. Updated character are literally new people with the old memories inserted. The old character is incinerated/killed. I don't think the characters would react well if Val offered to kill them, clone a new copy of them and giving the new copy their old memories.

In this setting, there's really no other way to do it. Facility doesn't have any spooky jamjar forces that magically update characters. Even if Val did it behind the scenes, characters would still be dying, and it would probably cause an uproar IC (because if she can send them home why wasn't she doing that already, then the death thing probably would get revealed anyway).

okay I know this is the hate meme, but I keep seeing this schadenfreude towards ataraxion and I really want to know: what is it exactly about this game that's got you just wishing it would die like this?

This is really surprising for me to hear. I've had an excellent time getting CR, and I've been in the game for almost a year. My character doesn't post often, but he gets lots of responses when he does. I tag around as much as I can, which probably helps with getting responses to things I post—as it does anywhere.

Yes, some of my CR has been developed through OOC coordination. The CR meme is excellent for that, and even plurk—and no, it's not just my pinging my friends on plurk to tag with me, I've done "if I did this sort of thing, who'd want in" and gotten people with whom I don't regularly speak jumping in. But I don't think that tossing around ideas OOC-ly to plot in games is specific to SC.

This game has never been difficult getting CR, in my experience. Yes, I suppose I'm more proactive in going out to get it, both IC and OOC, but that would be the case anywhere. There are some players who tag around everywhere. If you do that yourself as much as you can, it really shouldn't be hard.

I've never heard 'Wholockwood' before. Is it Sherlock, Doctor Who and Torchwood?

I've heard of Superwholock which is Supernatural, Doctor Who and Sherlock and possibly the stupidest thing that Tumblr has ever spawned.
