her reaction astounds and confuses me

i took a look at the rejection notice and it seemed like perfectly normal writing and characterization crit. and the thing that bugs me isn't that she's overreacting to an RP rejection (that's part of it, though); it's that everyone receives constructive crit in what they do, mainly in school or for your career. looking at the crit you receive, learning from it, and improving yourself because of it is how people get better at...anything. everything! if we didn't get that kind of feedback from everyone, we'd stagnate and wouldn't get anywhere.

i had a broadcasting teacher who was really big on this. being a giant hard-ass on everyone was how he was preparing us for real life and how people in the business would actually react to the quality of work we did. the harsher he was, the more we improved and the more prepared we were. it was a public service.

she wouldn't have lasted a second. she would have dropped his classes after a couple of days because he was being real. if she reacts that badly to crit that she received for something she does as a hobby, for fun, how is she going to react when it comes to stuff for work or school? this goes for a lot of other RPers too, mind you, but jesus christ that's mind boggling to me.

she doesn't need someone to be "nice" to her. she needs to learn how to not take general crit personally.

i just can't understand it...
