Yeah, those views are definitely out there, it's very depressing. The thing is though it varies by community, and generally the misogynist trends aren't really as universal as in, say, Hetalia or Naruto or Avengers or what have you. Eridan and Vriska's positions, for instance, are often reversed in the right community.
