The mods aren't allowing crossover AUs anymore and I'd bet that's why.

I still haven't seen any Karkat as good as rpanonkarkat and that's just sad

I have an incomprehensible hatred for the work 'raks' and think that their mod NPCs are fandom characters is dumb as bricks.

Flakes bum me out. There's one person who never follows through on anything. They seem pretty cool otherwise but I don't think I'm even going to try RPing with them anymore because it never happens.

Now I'm a bit pissed because I could have RPed this scene with someone else and I was really looking forward to it.

One of the reasons I suspect it is Mike.

It's actually pretty common for them to actively WANT canon castmates to play off of. A lot of them think it'd be exciting to have canon versions of themselves as well. I won't say it's not intimidating because it's always intimidating to get into a new game, but it's not something you should worry over so much here. Take a look at the DGM cast, for example. They've embraced canon castmates eagerly.

and yet neither of them actively drove off half of their playerbase, unlike a certain other mod the anons have been surprisingly squeamish about naming.

She's made me hate the phrase "yes good," if that counts. It's seriously all she says to almost everything, can't she actually say something?

It's especially annoying if the villain's been there for a while, has established CR, hasn't done anything overtly villainous (and if they're a smart villain, especially in a jamjar game, has possibly established some good guy cred against this exact eventuality)...and everyone believes Joe Random Protagonist who's been there for all of five minutes and has done nothing of note except flying off the handle at the villain.

This. Getting cross-canon CR in that game was like pulling teeth.

People who threaten to drop every time you do something they don't like, not realizing how badly you hope they'll actually drop.

that's not completely fair, people would definitely play izaya if he were a cute anime girl. an ugly girl, though, no but there aren't really any ugly girls in anime ever.

what do you do when you dislike a female character who is hated by most of the fandom? do you feel guilty? do you feel like you're contributing to misogyny in fandom? what if you can't make yourself like a character no matter how much examination of your double standards, would you still try to like her anyway?
