I honestly feel sorry for you if you sincerely think all female characters in shows that have "moe" art styles have the same personality.

And I actually agree that the idol thing is getting overdone but that's just ignorant.

I worded it shitty, I meant it each series you always have the same archetypes. Cute clumsy girls, dignified big sister type, w/e.

That doesn't make each character exactly the same. There are archetypes in any media.

You mean like the characters in every anime or LA series ever?

I actually can't tell LA characters apart, especially the MC guys. A week ago, I thought Shep from Star Gate Atlantis was actually the policeman guy from Terra Nova or the MC from Flash Foward. They are archetypes, and about as hard to tell apart as the idols.

I don't like the idol stuff myself, mostly since I don't give a damn about idols, but I sure have an easier time telling them apart than main male characters in LA shows.

The problem you have isn't anime, and isn't even "kawaii uguu moemoe" girls, it's that you don't care much for these shows, thus never bother much and therefore only look at very superficial aspects, and thus obviously can't tell em apart. Just like I don't care for, say, Star Gate Atlantis or Terra Nova, and thus have a hard time telling the characters there apart.

You can take any character from any canon, and reduce them to an archetype when viewed with little interest. At close glance, though, those usually have individual characteristics that keep them apart from the others.

Yes, I hate the archetype of girls acting like children just for the sake of moe.

I hate the archetype of male characters doing everything while female characters just add minor support and are there for saving or posing sexy.

I rather have "moe girls" that lead the show, go on awesome adventures, and solve problems on their own.

Don't act like they're there to empower you, though, because they are not. They're there for guys to hnnggh over, so don't go acting as if anime girls are more feminist than live action girls when they both have sexist archetypes, just manifested differently.

Oh, but you're forgetting all the action girls in western shows, who are basically just men with tits.

Let's be frank.

Not even LA fans like Terra Nova.

Okay, point taken. It just started airing where I live, so it was fresh in my head.
