They call it "the Planet". Ultimania doesn't change that.

The japanese version never has anyone use the name of the planet, though. So it's not a translation mistake.

I've seen it done in entertaining ways, but it's still weird. Hard to imagine Cloud especially using "Shiva's tits".

Sure, cause I know when I refer to the planet I am on, I call it, the planet. I don't always just call it EARTH, even though it has a name. My fucking god, what a dumbass thing to wank about. It's referred to as Gaia in other materials, even if the cast never directly refers to it as such. If I came up to you and said, "THE PLANET IS IN TROUBLE." That doesn't fucking mean our planet doesn't have a name or that we don't know the name.

along with plenty of other characters canonically using "god!", "goddammit".

technically, there is a goddess figure. no one puts stock in her except people who read deep into LOVELESS. yet another ic=/=ooc thing. we know how the world works. One of the biggest problems in FF7 is that the vast majority of people don't. They have different views. Elmyra thought Aerith was talking about people returning to the stars when they died. It's not hard to think religion turned to a god figure instead of the goddess. Minerva's a pretty shitty goddess figure anyway.
