also: he's been in luceti for a very long time. and he's had plenty of time to develop and create certain bonds. if there's anything a little off about him, it'd be due to that. but in my opinion, he's played very well.

sapph ragging on her doesn't count, i mean actual crit on characterization. never seen it happen and if it did i doubt she would ignore it, she doesn't seem like the sort of person.

but i don't know why i'm arguing when you've already proven you're a troll with a grudge because someone dares to play a character as gay.

I just went back and checked, and I think the reason you haven't seen anyone crit her is because there was a period of pretty much half a year in which she didn't respond to the HMD at all. There was that time in June in which several people spoke up about her activity for two certain characters, then there was a gap of no HMDing at all, until she finally made a comm HMD thread again in February.

Now, I'm not saying it was intentional. I'm just saying that explains it.

That aside, I think people are missing the point of why the OP was complaining about Richard being an "emo faggot". From my interpretation, I don't think it's the fact that he's gay that's a problem, or the fact that he's conflicted. Rather, how it's being handled. It seems to me that he's suffering for the sake of suffering, and basically acting like a teenage girl when it comes to romance.

Though I may be wrong.

so in other words you're a troll who hasn't actually played the canon, good to know. if you had you'd know that richard is at least ambiguously gay if not canon gay. i don't even ship it but you'd have to be blind to miss all of the subtext between him and asbel.

Please enlighten me as to why he shouldn't be played as gay, because unless I missed a sidequest or something I didn't see a single piece of evidence in canon pointing to him being interested in women at all. In fact like the other anon said, he's at least in the 'Ambiguously Gay' category and I'd say the only thing keeping him from being canon gay is the fact that his sexuality is never addressed directly. But I don't know how you could read some of the things he said to Asbel as being any other way.

Really, of all of the male characters in Tales of Graces, you object to him being interested in dudes? I don't follow this particular character but even so I can't see how that makes him OOC at all. The only way I could see it being OOC would be if he was sleeping around with lots of people.

And I'm not even touching the 'emo' part because I'm not sure how you could possibly miss the fact that Richard being miserable was sort of one of the major driving plot points of the game itself.

i haven't been able to play it yet but everyone who has played graces already and knows of that richard tells me he is pretty true to character.

so i'm just wondering if u buttmad and/or can't deal with in-rpg development
