Maybe I'm just reading it wrong, but doesn't this sort of speak for itself? Described by DW as "the total number of comments [...] made and received anywhere on the site." I'm sure Open ID would bring that second number up some, but considering it's been more than a few months since the move from LJ and the account was created four months ago... I dunno. Seems kind of damning to me.
