The very same who called the cops on someone for RPing Axel/Roxas ("CP!!"). Deets on the olden day lesbophobia by the way? Always had my suspicions with the way she often whined about straight/christian bashing she allegedly suffered from the "LGBT folks" as she put it.

I seem to recall that, too.

I was only a kid then and I've loooong since lost chat logs, so I'm struggling to remember the details, but as I understand it, she had a growing frustration with neckbeards into anime, and how they sexualized all women anime characters to be lesbians together. Anime fandom was very much male-dominated at the time, as women had yet to carve out much of a place for themselves, so it was very hard to avoid lesbian portrayals. I think something happened at a convention, too. I don't think she had a thing against male slash, as she did play a pairing or two, but when she had a falling out with someone in our group, she was very vocally against effeminate gay men characters.

Also, she had a tendency to very, very obsessively connect to the characters she played, and their lives often paralleled hers, so I think she was very offended when people portrayed characters she ID'd with as lesbians.

That said, I know this is a hatememe, but I don't remember having much trouble with her.

That's exactly it. Apparently she was a tomboy growing up and had a lot of people calling her a lesbian or whatever so she got (gets?) SUPER MAD about people portraying less feminine women as lesbians. Because apparently this is a comment on her sexuality itself and/or it would be just so awful if a character she identified with was gay.

Sounds like someone needs to learn to tell the difference between fiction and reality. She's pushing 40. She should know better than getting hypersensitive about the sexualities of fictional characters.

Yeah, really. I can sympathize to a degree with her frustration at people going THEY MUST BE GAY for stupid and shallow reasons, but it's not like tomboyish lesbians don't exist. I should know, seeing as I am one.

I can sympathize too, at least at some level. It's a shitty thing to go trough and I'd be pretty frustrated as well. The way she acts out her frustrations though? Ranges from immature to completely reprehensible judging by the things that have been said here over the past month.

Yeah, it's shitty, but by the same token it bothers me that her response to receiving treatment that is ultimately homophobic is to shit bricks about the possibility that someone might see a character she likes as queer.

Confirming the tomboy thing. Additionally, you reminded me that she couldn't stand the idea of there being other female members of the Organization (nor Namine) because she didn't like the idea of Larxene being slashed with women, and she thought that the presence of other women cheapened how impressive Larxene was as the only woman in a big group of men. Larxene fit the tomboy thing.

Like the above anon said, she was also super against effeminate gay men and yaoi fangirls for a while, so I think it's more OH NO SOMEONE INTERPRETS A CHARACTER'S SEXUALITY DIFFERENTLY THAN I DO than anything.

Also, if they have displayed any kind of attraction to the opposite sex in canon, they are totally 100% str8 4 lyfe and playing them as the slightest bit queer is an affront to canon and you're probably a heterophobe because you wouldn't like it if someone played a canonly gay character in a straight relationship!! I don't know if she's grown out of that since I fell out of contact with her, but even if she has it's shameful that it took her 30-some years to do so.

doesn't firion have a canon love interest that's female though? in fact i think in the novelization he ends up with a woman at the end

I have no clue, honestly.

But I WILL say that I guarantee if it was someone else playing that ship, she would be throwing a fit about how OOC it is for Firion to have any kind of same sex attraction, especially if it somehow got in the way of a pairing she wanted to play. When she does it, though, it's just Kuja being an exception and of course she developed it well enough, unlike all those yaoi fanbrats that ship Axel with dudes.

So I guess I'll concede this point and say she's just a hypocrite in general.

This is from Firion's wiki, over the FF wikia:

In his Japanese NES profile, it is stated that Firion has a weakness for women, which could explain why he was so easily seduced by the Lamia Queen.

So you're right on the fact that he does have a canon (female) love interest and ends up with one (if not the love interest) in the novelization.

that is one of the things that makes it where people end up having problems with her. if you crit her character or if your character doesnt like hers IC she takes it as a personal attack on her and has, on at least 3 different occasions (that i know of), turned it into a witch hunt against the mun become obsessed with them. i feel lucky to have been on the inside of it, it taught me to never have my character dislike or disagree with hers in game.

It really would not surprise me. I learned the same thing when I watched her burn bridges, so I never burned bridges with her, either. We just gradually faded from contact.
