This happens to a lot of the trolls tbh, it's just pretty much worst with Nepeta and Tavros and Fef.

I will give cute, but Nepeta can be catty (HAR HAR) and is super-blunt, Tavros isn't a helpless quivering moéblob (Vriska is just waaaaaay overpowered), Feferi is cheerfully terrifying... :\

I have never, ever seen a Sephiroth played well in LJ/DWRP. They are always whiny bishie babies whose terrible agonizing pasts have left them with a craving for healing buttsex, or they're godmoddy dicks. The players to a man are all control freak psychos who throw a bitchfit if you dare to voice criticism of their precious silver-haired baby.

And inevitably when I mention this I get deluged with a goddamn clusterfuck of people who want to tell me all about their bff who played the Best Sephiroth Ever back on forums/gaia/notebook rp in high school/lj in the early days but she doesn't play him anymore teehee!! which is the equivalent of saying "I don't believe in unicorns" and having a pack of unicorn fangirls jump on you with "no unicorns are real! I have pictures! but they're invisible! YOU CAN'T SEE THEM". It does nothing to invalidate my goddamn point.

Huh, I've never actually run into this. Or at least, not for several years

my problem with Sephiroths is that they're always insufferably bland. But then I never finished Crisis Core so maybe that's IC.

I remember playing with a post-game one I really liked, who was all about the megalomania and the nonspecific creepiness (you know, the kind that makes your instincts go THIS PERSON IS NOT SAFE BUT I DON'T KNOW WHY) but I don't want to go to the trouble of trying to find them just in case I've made them better in my memory than they really were.

Crazyroth would be super hard to play, and I've never found one from that particular era that I like.

CC Sephiroth just seems a little...uptight, I guess. I've seen him played fairly well, but I don't like him much as a character anyway.

Yeah. And the problem with Loki is that a lot of the crazy Hiddles fangirls transplant their Hiddleston love onto Loki and vice versa.

It's horrific on tumblr, which is thankfully where most of them are. Sometimes I wonder what the MCU fandom would be like if it wasn't Hiddleston who portrayed Loki.

As someone who loves both myths and movieverse, there are a lot of things that are so *different*, it's hard to figure out how to synthesize them sometimes. And no matter what you pick, *someone* will be mad at you for doing it wrong. Sigh.
