if they don't want their precious baby to suffer consequences for their actions, call in the mods. there's usually a rule somewhere in every game's info that states mods can make decisions in standstills between players.

or work out a situation where someone else shows up and restrains your character after a severe beating, but before he has the chance to kill them.
