It was actually a few villains who pointed out that without laws, the heroes are just as villainous for killing them in retaliation or trying to take away their freedom since there is nothing that states they cannot do that.

That argument would really only work on Lawful types, though. So many protagonists are working outside of the law/against it/cherrypickers that why should they care if there's no law about what they see as wrongdoing in whatever jamjar they're sent in? Why should they care that another person acted in a way that might normally be just as illegal if they think it's morally justified (aka villain attacked someone first, someone else is retaliating; villain attacked someone and seems likely to attack again, let's put them in timeout)?

There is bullshit that happens with Heroes Trusting Heroes Just Because (over villains, with no established CR or particular reason for the villain to rub wrong) but the legal argument is kind of...dumb. Many heroes at some point put their moral code over the law, so they're not likely going to see another person as villainous just for acting outside the law or without it.

I've said this logged in before, so anon is just for uniformity, butI really *really* want to see a game where Lex Luthor is apped as a lone canon warrior. He's a smart guy and quick to set himself up as a hero, so whenever his presence draws a Superman into the game, the population will be forewarned that an evil alien menace with eye-lasers has arrived. Hide your kids, hide your wife. Superman can see through her clothes.

THE SCANDAL.

...lmfao I just imagined my good guy being indeed all scandalized because Superman mentions he has X-ray vision

she'd want to smack him if he was looking at her even a little funny. (...she'd probably even try, not that it'd do anything because SUPES)
