Nope. I'm an aunt to a dozen kids starting at age three months and one having just turned ten. When they act up, they get spanked as soon as they get home.

Guess who doesn't have to deal with their nieces and nephews laying down on Wal-Mart floors and pitching a fit, throwing things off shelves, or otherwise pitching a fit in public because they know they'll be getting spanked if they do? Me. It's great. They're great kids.

I used to be friend with this one woman who didn't spank her kids at all. They broke several expensive things in her employer's house because they wouldn't listen and really had no reason to (she never punished them). She was always really sorry, but I wouldn't be paying two thousand dollars to repair anything in my house without showing those kids what a wooden spoon could do to your asscheeks.
