but yeah having just very basic standards =/= elitism. sure the fandom has a problem with it and i won't deny there will be some butthurt rpers over any ship at all. you can ignore them as long as their crit doesn't match up with canon. but when you app to a game the castmates there have a right to expect that you're going to make an effort to be ic, not blow off cr with them to rp out your ships, and that you won't force them to icly react to your sexytiems. rp is a social game and if someone is going to blow off how their castmates are going to have to react to their oocness then they should be writing fanfiction not rping.

No, fuck you. You're in an English language game. You shouldn't be accepted just because weh weh your grammar isn't that great.

as a player and a mod, I give a bit of leeway towards those who are honestly trying but have grammar issues. HOWEVER they have to seriously be trying their damnedest to make coherent English sentences before I go easy on them. If it's non-stop confusion, then obviously they're not trying and they really should be slapped. It's not an excuse to get away with shitty grammar. It's a reason, but it also means you need to work that much harder to fail less.

Actually, I haven't been following the Mini thread at all (I have no idea who she is but I thought I'd steer far the fuck from that trainwreck).

I name dropped because I'd heard her being referred to as a whiteknight and was wondering if there were any details about that or if it was just bullshit. Turns out to be the latter, so that's kind of good news.

Her art still sucks though.

just seriously look at what they have written and think for a few seconds "is this a good idea, yes or no?" I think the internet would be a better place if we all did that.

Nostalgia, mostly. It was a late 90s-early 2000s block that aired mostly dubbed anime. Since anime, dubbed or subbed, was somewhat hard to come by in the 90s, and most RPers are 16-20ish, they have fond memories of it.

The dubs themselves varied in quality, but for the most part they were pretty damn good, especially considering they were made in the 90s. You got some strange edits and weird lines added in, but when it came down to the important stuff they were fairly faithful (though there were a few stinkers here and there, like Cardcaptors). Sure, sometimes blood was digitally removed and such, but with regards to the actual plot? Something plot-critical being removed was actually pretty rare. That's a miracle, considering the time period and the fact it aired on cartoon network.

So, again, nostalgia, but at least it's nostalgia for something that was pretty noteworthy. Not to mention it gave us the dub of Big O.
