The problem is that Chris has been watching so much harem comedy anime and playing so many dating sims for so long that he's unable to distinguish fantasy from reality. Much of his butthurt stems from the fact that reality isn't neatly conforming to a harem comedy anime or dating sim. He imagines himself to be a shonen hero and is floored that those don't actually work outside harem animes and dating sims.

The heroes in these are "lovable losers" who are supposed to allow lonely RL otaku to live vicariously through them. Girls in these fall all over the heroes just for being "nice" to them and for being plain and ordinary when the "rivals" are flashy and over the top. The whole point of these harem animes and dating sims is precisely BECAUSE RL is not like them, and what is acceptable behavior in these is considered creepy outside of these animes and games. Otaku are by and large considered creepy by most Japanese, which is why there's a market for these things.

This is most likely why Chris gets asspained every single time someone reminds him that this is NOT acceptable behavior off an animation cell. He's conforming to animu stereotypes so girls should be banging down his door, and he can't understand that IRL acting like this is not romantic or sweet, it's creepy. It's also why some of his whiteknights aren't always bothered, because they're nearly as inured to it for the same reasons. There are more than a few RPers who can't separate anime from reality.

The best thing he could do for his own personal happiness and everyone else's peace of mind is to take a break from anything harem anime, dating sim, or rp related for a while. His expectations are too caught up in his fantasy world that he needs to extract himself from it if he's going to improve.

I don't follow his plurk so I'm not sure what's been said on his homophobia/anti-abortion stance. I don't RP with him in any games, either. But I have known him for a very long time.

He is, at best, a heternormative and sexist dude who is completely blind to his own privilege. It sails right the fuck over his head that his shit stinks, that his views on pretty much anything related to gender and sexuality are skewed and offensive, and that he has no place inflicting his religiously-grounded viewpoints on others. I have argued with him about this shit before, but it's like yelling at a brick wall: completely pointless and frustrating.

It's disappointing to see that it has affected his ability to RP with others (and, well, to not be an enormous douchebag). But it's certainly not surprising.
