In a similar situation, here. It really does suck, especially when their thread is about a hundred replies long and the thread where I tagged them ended four tags in, on the same post.

Thread length isn't always the real tell. Sometimes the OP of the slower thread will vanish for two days between tags, or you're just on different time zones, whatever, and the fact that the OP of the 100 replies thread is on at the same time as you makes all the difference.

That said I get infuriated when people ignore me for the shiny, especially if it's important plot related stuff.

One of my castmates and I are both super-fast taggers so if we're on at the same time we can easily rack up a 30-comment thread in an hour or so. Another castmate is on the other side of the world so we're lucky if we can get three or four tags in a day. I enjoy playing with both of them equally but my threads with Castmate 1 almost always end up being a lot longer just for that reason.

The thread with their special someone? Huge conversations about absolutely nothing but dripping with UST.

The tiny thread with me? "Hi." "Okay." "I see." Without even action brackets.
