That treatment was really uncalled for, IMO.

But, what's with the "Tone of the game" I see in threads on the potential apps pages? Example (paraphrase): You play a pony, sorry, they don't fit the tone of the game, but feel free to app a more appropriate character.

I'm aware that some RPers have issues with the medium divide, or with maybe target audience divide (Not wanting to play their edgy characters against one from a kid's show); but IMO, part of RPing in panfandom games is being creative enough to have your character(s) react to characters from wildly different universes.

Why not suggest a way to adapt the character, instead of just call them inappropriate? Examples: aging-up, making humanoid on arrival, nerfing powers?

Maybe it'd be cool if a game had Spike from MLP meet the badasses from Reign of Fire. What if we want to see Twilight Sparkle meet Merlin; or Trixie and Morgana meet the characters from The Prestige. Great Mouse Detective Basil meets BBC Moriarty?

I was going to app into this game now I'm not so sure.... is it really as bad clique wise as everyone says it is? I hadn't heard anything about it until I reserved.

It ... kind of is. It tends to be awesome until/if they decide that they don't want to play with you anymore, in which case immediate ostracism. It's also really hard for characters from new players to get any kind of traction.

To be perfectly honest, I would find a different game. You have better than even odds of it ending up a bad experience. And fairly significant chances of it being a really bad experience. Why do you think there's so much grudgewank in this thread?
