tbh the same thing happens with dating sims aimed at guys. not surprising though, people play those games for the opposite gender mostly. not for the self-insert.

That's very true. I hadn't really been thinking about the dating sims that were aimed at guys, when I had been writing that up. I can see why most would be playing it for the opposite gender; those characters are given more personality than the character they're put into the role as.
