"guys hey me overshare about al;mfgsd;gd'fsgnsdlkfsdfm E V E R Y T H I NG to all my plurk friends, even the ones who are just there for RP stuff and probably give no fucks about my personal life (cat)"
on the other hand i hate this culture of ppl who are only interested in rp communicating with you via personal plurk and whining about not liking the content on said personal plurk behind your back.
anon, do the logical thing: remove them or unfollow them. talk to them via messenger if you can't stand them via plurk. not exactly an issue.
i don't actually have anyone added just for the sake of RP and i always unfollow people who annoy me. do the logical thing and don't make silly assumptions based on very short comments, anon
the point is that this is common in RP culture and also fucking annoying so kindly unrustle your jimmies and move along
Especially when their problems are just the stupidest shit. Oh no, your dad snapped at you. Oh shit, you gotta do the dishes and take out the trash. What's that, a C on that paper you wrote over lunchbreak the period before it was due because you were too busy RPing? BB (cozy)(cozy)(cozy)
At least have the decency to put a [irl] or [mute] tag on it so I already know not to give a fuck.
I despise this idea that you have to be BFF with everyone in your game and constantly coddle, asspat and cozy at them or else you're a bad person who should feel bad.
I got so tired of trying to walk the knife edge between 'negotiating about everything in advance and let's talk about memes for three hours before tagging' and 'OMG why do you have to talk everything to death you're being a creepy controlling bitch.' Usually I just ended up getting cut.
Personally, I really don't understand this notion that everyone hates you as soon as you start RPing and everyone is just waiting for you to make a mistake.
I know it SEEMS that way when people get butthurt or dislike a certain playing style, but not everyone on LJRP/DWRP is like that.
I'm nowhere near the best player out there but I've never been given any kind of trouble and have always gotten tags. It's only people who make a big deal about it that get hated on.
People who encounter one (x) player they don't like, whether for a legit reason or not, and proceed to hate on all (x) players they ever encounter forevermore. Not wanting to play with them for one reason or another is one thing, but if you think all Homestuck/OC/first person/male/etc. players are inherently evil/wanky/obnoxious/godmoding/self-inserting/creepy/etc. and go around loudly declaring it every time you hear about someone fitting that description, then I'm sorry but you are a fuckass.
Pretty much this. I played with a godawful Homestuck castmate for awhile who put me off the character at first, but then I remembered the character is actually really good.
I always roll my eyes at ~you ruined this character for me forever~ because jesus, it's fine to be upset, but move the fuck on already.
the fact most of the anons here probably belong to that rp culture of people who flop around like jellyfish and talk shit instead of confronting the people with whom they have issues.
Just. Plurk. jfc, that place has to be the wankiest cesspool of stupidity and passive-aggressiveness in the history of everything ever. Went on once, never going back.
No, fuck you. Stop blaming the stupidity and passive-aggressiveness of people on a website. They were batshit before they got there. They just found an outlet for it.
The whole idea that it is okay to suddenly drop all your games, talking about how you just can't RP anymore and you need to step away...
And then turn around and right the next fucking day be talking about a game you want to start/an app you want to put in/etc.
I actually got seriously burned on this by someone, who insisted that because of real life issues they just didn't have time for RP anymore, and pretty much dropped everything in the middle of a plot... then, when we're trying to figure out how to resolve things? They're offering to bring in a character, or bring back a character, or... Lskmcksddnfjke YOU DROPPED. BECAUSE. YOU SAID. YOU COULD NO LONGER. RP. GET OUT.
It just makes me so ticked off. How can you seriously go from, "I'm going to need a few months break," to, "Hey guys! I have this rad idea for a muse to app!" or "I'm going to be starting up a game soon! Check it out!"? HOW?!
