I think the show is well-produced and I like the actors, but hate Moffat and how insufferable and snide he is in every interview.
But I cannot fucking stand how a lot of Sherlock Fans are all over Moffat's dick like he totally came up with the basic plot structure of the Final Problem and that Sherlock Holmes faking his death is new as of 2012.
Fans who suck Moffat's dick in general actually can fuck right off.
I'm sure I just hit the wrong pocket of fandom at the wrong time (logically I know all Sherlock fans are like this, it's just annoying as fuck). Which happens when shit is really popular and climbing. Just sit down, Moffat fangirls, he isn't the second coming -- except possibly of Joss Whedon.
I'm a fan of Sherlock because I read the Doyle stories and books. And I was so, so slow to get into the show because I had a very skeptical reaction to the idea of modernizing Sherlock Holmes.
I don't mind Moffat, but I'm much more fond of Gattis. (Actually, my enjoyment of his Crooked House is what swayed me into giving the show a chance.)
I am so very disappointed (though not surprised) that pockets of the fandom didn't know how Reichenbach Fall would end.
Though I was horribly disappointed because I feel like they really ruined the ending. Their very last shot? The episode would have been ten times more heartbreaking without it.
I'm in the fandom and I hate the fans like that. It's a decent enough program with some snappy dialogue and good acting, and I can really connect with the friendship stuff and John being a humanizing influence on Sherlock because my best friend was that for me.
So it's enough for me to overlook the flaws, but it's far from perfect and I don't like some of Moffat's attitudes sometimes. And the only thing that really made the last episode as good as it was, was the acting.
It's a good show but that doesn't mean it's immune to criticism, and I can definitely see why people would dislike it, enough not to shove it in their faces.
So at least you're not alone? Lol. Even some Sherlock fans hate those kinds of Sherlock fans.
