The initial absconding wasn't even all that ridiculous to me. What got me was all the ooc drama and venom directed at players whose characters had perfectly ic reactions.

Kind of the straw that broke the camel's back for me, really, in regards to She-Who-Will-Apparently-Be-Namedropped-Into-Eternity.

not a plot, just a post, but one character telling the entire game about their father molesting them (they kissed during a v-day event) during a 'reveal truths and secrets' thing. it was a) originally not cut with a trigger warning, b) included a post tag that was 'ha ha come make fun of [character name]', and c) nearly everyone who replied did, in fact, tell him to shut up, stop whining, and/or made fun of him.

or the same plot used so a person can make their character into a Hero Stu. you know, the kind that kicks everyone's ass and saves the day and godmode their way out of trouble and then the kidnap victim (usually a hot woman or a weepy uke) rewards them with sex

This one time I was doing a storyline and it was going along so well until the other player threw a dead goose at me. I was picking feathers out of my hair for days.

This was years ago, back in 2007 I think. I want to say it was Spiral RPG but the archives don't go back nearly as far as I recall. Anyway, whatever the game was, they had a small Phoenix Wright cast consisting of Matt Engarde, Ema Skye, and Phoenix and Edgeworth. And, for some reason or a-fucking-other, they decided the best way to show that Matt was a bad, evil guy was to have him rape Ema. Now, that wasn't the worst part, as awful and melodramatic as that plot was. No, the worst part was that Rapist!Matt kept popping up when you'd least expect it. Like, when someone new came into the city? Another character, completely outside of the cast, went, "WATCH OUT, MATT ENGARDE IS HERE AND HE MIGHT RAPE YOU." It was seriously the dumbest thing, and not only that, this game was my first taste of LJRP and one of the reasons I have a hate-on for rape plots to this day.

lol that was the first game I played at. I wasn't in the cast, but the rape thing happened shortly after I joined I think? I remember being in chat while the players discussed it. there was some kind of argument about whether or not someone could get pregnant from rape. it was kinda mind-blowing. one of the players was certain you couldn't because for... some reason, I don't even remember what it was.

after that I think Matt pretty much became the sex-offender of the game. idk if I'm remembering correctly, but I think there was someone else he started to have regular, violent sex with? something like that.

...there was a lot of sex going on in that game, now that I'm thinking about it. huh.

A player tried to run a breast cancer plot AFTER she had gotten flack for said plot while in a different game.

not a plot, but back in the day someone in amat apped the mother of spencer reid from criminal minds. said mother is mentally unwell. and the player insisted they'd be unable to take meds there so she could be more unstable. this woman is definitely unwell to the point where her ability to consent is pretty much null off meds.

I know amat's kind of rapey to begin with, thanks to the collars, but that was the sketchiest shit I saw there. Especially because the player seemed to be doing it for the lolz, and not caring at all about the serious mental illness involved. and seemed butthurt when people were understandably concerned and upset about this.

Taking advantage of every single curse or event that a game hits your character with to swap the sex of your character. Then have them suddenly well adjusted to the new sex, after flashing everyone their new boobies. Then hook up and have sex immediately with the only straight male cast mate.
