any plot designed to create a Damsel Sue out of a character

you know, stuff where a person has their character kidnapped or raped or mindraped or bullied or attacked or their baby stolen just so their character can get lots of attention and sit around wangsting

or the same plot used so a person can make their character into a Hero Stu. you know, the kind that kicks everyone's ass and saves the day and godmode their way out of trouble and then the kidnap victim (usually a hot woman or a weepy uke) rewards them with sex

i used to play with someone who would inflict mindrape/physical assault/amnesia/illness/lost pets/wtfever on her characters purely so they would have a reason to sit around and cry while other characters fussed over them and solved all their problems for them

and if you have any objections to that stuff you get SO MUCH SHIT. "oh you're no fun! sorry you can't handle drama and complexity! the world isn't all sunshine and bunnies! you're such a baby!" or a variety of passive aggressive guilt tripping, especially of the "pretending they're fine with not doing it but they're really not" kind.
