honestly? stuff like that has cheered me up before when it's a plurk about something serious. it's a sort of, 'Hey, this person took the time to at least read my plurk and extend some sign of sympathy.' feeling, and it cheers me up because never hugged by my parents as a child.

but no seriously, for some of us, just knowing that someone at least read something and understood it to be a not super great thing is enough to make us feel a little less shitty.

it's like the commentless +1s people leave in comment threads. on the one hand, really, if you have nothing to say, why the fuck are you commenting? on the other, it's nice to see other people are supportive of whatever idea.

I mean the game I help mod has pretty easy apps, and unless it's really bad we're not going to reject someone based on typos, but I still get irritated when I see more than maybe one or two typos. Sometimes I want to send out a revision saying, "Learn the difference between common homonyms. Then you can app again."

When I was in college I just kept up with my work as it was assigned and I never spent more than a couple of hours studying for any final in any class because I already knew the material, it was just a matter of going back over it and refreshing my memory. Meanwhile, my friends who slacked off all semester would cram for hours for the same test and their grades were never any better than mine.

A lot of people are on hiatus for finals too. Doesn't excuse people who have consistently character squatted, but that's why some people are ungodly slow. It's why I am.
