It's been proven that if time passes during the day and they're punished for it later than what they did wrong happened they won't know why they're getting punished. Also to say that them getting spanked has them acting right doesn't really say much. The anon above was right in saying that spanking is a lazy parenting technique. Sure the sting from it tells the kid that they did something wrong, but doesn't show them what is right as its' a trial and consequence process (they do something else wrong? spanked. that pattern can continue or become worse as they'll get frustrated and really start acting out.)

I don't know if you mean that your friend never punished them as in she never spanked or that she never did any sort of consequence like time-out or something.

The ending wank made me seriously sideglance the whole fucking fandom. I thought it was an all right ending; it wasn't the shit pile that the fans were whining about. It's fine if the Hero dies/BREATHES UNDER A PILE OF SMASHED BUILDING/whatever theory is there in end.

Being yelled at did nothing for me except made me yell back. Time outs made me twice as asshole-ish and just gave me time to think about what I'd do to get back at them for it. I didn't listen to anything anybody had to say to me when I was angry or wanted something. I laughed when they took things away from me, even important things because it was more important to me to win than to have whatever it was. Hard spanking was the only thing that ever got my attention seriously enough to stop me from acting out or made me think twice before doing something in the first place because I wasn't physically strong enough to stop them. Some kids really are just that stubborn.

Today I don't get into trouble with authority or the law. I'm not violent or abusive to anyone or anything. I don't feel like my self esteem or sense of self was damaged from being hit by my parents. I think it's the only thing that kept me from all of the above, and I'm glad they gave enough of a shit about me to take the hard line and do the difficult thing rather than pussy around with shit that didn't work.

I'm not 'viewing' anything. Yes there have been surveys and studies done on this, but I looked those up in the first place from personal experience. Though I'll admit mine was more like abuse than a cute little swat on the wrist/ass or whatever. I'm not saying it happens a hundred percent of the time either, but it does happen.
