internalized misogyny is so great. the homestuck fandom is practically the phenomenon personified.

I've seen worse case fandoms as a whole (hetalia, anyone) but the cases in the Homestuck fandom are probably the most severe.

as much as I hate to say it, I agree with you. which sucks because homestuck has some great female characters that are well written, but they get dumbed down so quickly.

can't tell you how many times I have heard people defending eridan, the pathetic loser of the trolls who murdered his ex because he got jealous, and shaming vriska for killing the guy who attacked her. don't even get me started on people who call jade useless and not pulling her weight, even though she saved the fucking day at the end of act 5.

Yeah, those views are definitely out there, it's very depressing. The thing is though it varies by community, and generally the misogynist trends aren't really as universal as in, say, Hetalia or Naruto or Avengers or what have you. Eridan and Vriska's positions, for instance, are often reversed in the right community.

internalized misogyny is not limited to homestuck fandom. plus, as much as i am a feminist and don't agree with the bashing of female characters, that doesn't look to be what that person is doing. not everyone who prefers slash or who would like canon gay "hates their own vagina" and that's actually kind of insulting and concern trolling. sometimes people like or dislike ships or characters and it's not always for sj-related reasons.

a moiral is still a form of romance and no, your best friend is not your moiral. your cuddle buddy is not your irl moirail.

asexual =/= aromantic

moirallegiance is a form of troll romance but not a sexual one, therefore an asexual could in theory have a moirail

your point is still valid as in people saying "oh lol me and my irl moirail just had a feelings jam haha we are such qts" is stupid because:

- you are not a troll, trollmance is not a thing
- you are not a danger to society/yourself who has to be kept in check (if this doesn't apply you need a therapist not a moirail, hth)
- moirail =/= bff for life

most people who call their friends their "moirail" are joking about it, they don't mean they are seriously in a fictional alien romantic relationship with someone. a true moirallegiance would actually be a really unhealthy, codependent relationship in reality. and you should also maybe read up on the definition of asexual, as you seem to be slinging your ignorance around a little too flagrantly. and learn how to spell moirail.

+1 the co-dependent part. Most people don't realize it, but moirails are a very co-dependant based relationship, with one troll needing to keep another in line. Equius, for instance, would be even worse than he is if not for Nepeta keeping him calm and under control. In real life terms, it isn't healthy at all and definitely not something people should want.
