Maybe I'm just showing my age here, but I was spanked, my siblings were spanked, and pretty much all of my friends were and we all turned out just fine. Spanking is not the same thing as abuse or beating at all.

My parents were whipped and switched. I'm sure their grandparents possibly had it worse than that. They didn't all turn out abusive fuckups with no sense of right or wrong or how to communicate.

When I was a kid you never saw little hellions running around restaurants, supermarkets and parking lots disrupting everybody and causing safety hazards by crashing into people and running in front of cars. You never heard them talking back to their parents in public or saw them dressed age inappropriately. All this "don't spank the children" bullshit has produced generations of spoiled brats who can't leave their own house without SHAKING and CRYING because something might happen to them that they don't want. The world doesn't sit you down and rub your butt to soothe your precious feefees when you screw up. Learn it early and you aren't so socially crippled that you need it to.
