I agree, actually. I do ship it, but it's just painful at the moment. I really don't want to get into the 'is it an abusive relationship' argument, but people wouldn't think so if it didn't at least resemble one. Tbh the way some fans make so many excuses for Dean's behaviour lately makes me more uncomfortable than anything in the actual show.

So yeah, I just stick to S5 and earlier.

Honestly this is exactly what bothers me too. It's less the show, which has always had their relationship be pretty tumultuous, but more the fans still insisting that everything is fine and justifying the particularly unpleasant things Dean's done lately. Cas is no saint either but the way Dean's been acting is over the top inexcusable at times and has been since season six.

I think there's potential still to come out of this as an okay relationship, or even a good ship again, if their issues were worked through and their bond was made stronger by the hardships. But as it is right now it's just unhealthy and kind of, I don't know. It's just edging into questionable.

But yes. We can all go back to the happier times of season five, which is a little sad since season five wasn't happy, but still.

Those are all pretty much my thoughts exactly! Let's get married. And after the show runner change, I'm acually pretty hopeful for once. Not a feeling I'm used to associating with SPN.

But you don't understand, anon! Dean's only angry because he loves Cas so much! He's not really angry at him, he's angry at himself, and don't you know Dean? He just doesn't know how to express himself any other way! It's totally okay to guilt trip and yell at someone who's mentally ill so long as you really love them :)

seriously all the people saying this (and worse) are people i thought i liked. i'm one of the people who thinks Cas was pretty much playing everyone, cracked he might be, but saying shit like this to justify how Dean't acting is never okay.

what i don't get

is the people who think Cas is completely crazy and broken and child-like now

and also think Dean was totally justified in being a dick toward him 'because he wants his cas back'
