I think it's more platonic love in this case, but you're right. :( She's a genuinely sweet person, but sometimes it blinds her to just how awful people can be

i have seen it happen to a friend, she kept defending them until the shit they were doing finally got to her and that was fucking awful to see how it broke her. she got over it and now is fine for the most part but still it was awful and the worst part was that because she kept defending them many people gave up on her too so when she needed help only a few were left to pick up the pieces

That's why if you're smart, you realize that where there's smoke, there's usually fire. I don't have a lot of sympathy for people who defend scum with the main reason being, well, they've never done anything to me.

What it boils down to is they haven't done anything to them yet. I don't feel sorry for people who get bitten for playing with rattlesnakes when everyone around them is yelling and pointing, "You're holding a rattlesnake, you stupid bitch," just because THEY don't recognize it as a rattlesnake.
