I'm not even embarrassed. But you go ahead and keep thinking it's a rip-off of Mayfield. Maybe if you'd actually attempted to get past the fifties images and looked into the actual concept of the game, you'd MAYBE realize that we actually got our idea off of Persons Unknow.

you are a player in mayfield. you consciously created a game that is almost exactly like it. don't use this stupid 'persons unknown' excuse. your game is nothing like that series and barely shares any elements with it; it has far more things in common with mayfield.

You're right. Obviously I have no idea what I'm talking about or what we were drawing from when the game was thought up in January as the other mod introduced me to the show.

Persons Unknown does sound similar to what you have yes. But, at the same time, how is anyone expected to trust you? You are actively in Mayfield right now while planning to mod this game.

And furthermore even if you are ripping off Persons Unknown, you could always change the premise and alter it. When you present "a domestic horror game set in the 1950's", of course people are going to say it's a rip-off of Mayfield because that is the same premise as Mayfield.

At least Holly Heights deviates from that to a degree because it's just a domestic game set in modern times. You don't even have that going for you. Not to mention the vintage images, which is again something in common with Mayfield. You're blatantly ripping off the game you are in right now because you want to run the show. And if you're so unsatisfied with Mayfield that you made your own game, then just drop Mayfield and stay with your new game.

Actually, it's not a domestic game AT ALL. They aren't assigned families and only a few characters even start out in houses -- others wake up in various other locations. No familes are assigned, and there is only one active NPC - the clerk at the motel. So please come explain to me how that's the same so we can actually go back to our FAQ and try and clear things up.

there was a list with the similarities between your game and mayfield. anyone with half a brain can read that list and then compare for themselves and go golly gee they're right this is a rip-off! a lot of the location similarities could have been chalked off to well it's part of the setting, but when you throw in the fact that you PLAY AT MAYFIELD it becomes a matter of you copying them.

let me explain something to you since you dont seem to get why people think this is bad. in a real setting in the real world, you would be found guilty of plagiarism. yes, i know, this isn't the real world, but im giving you an example to try to get you to see why this is bad. the evidence of similarities and the fact that you actively play at the other place would be enough to find you guilty and either expelled or fired from a job.

it's wrong to do. it's wrong to call someone else's work your own. theres a lot of information at mayfield's game info section and it looks like over the time they've been open (which has been a long time) they've worked hard on it. what youve done is taken something that someone else worked hard on and tweaked it a tiny bit and then called it your own. you're getting flak here not because the anoncomm is evil and mean and it's just a horrible hate com!!!! but rather, because you deserve it.

it's clear you've copied them. just let it go. stop making yourself look worse. step away, stop arguing. your attitude and everything youre saying is just making you, as an individual person, look bad. your making it where im sitting here going damn i hope i never have to play with this person. stop digging yourself deeper.
