pretty sure it's this though it's not all that bad, aside from disregarding people having problems with the ac - http://thusia-ooc.dreamwidth.org/58135.html?thread=839191#cmt839191

yeah, that's definitely off-putting. especially the "WELL I NEVER HAVE TROUBLE SO I'D NEVER HAVE CONSIDERED IT" ...you're the head mod, you've been here since the start (presumably), of course you wouldn't have trouble getting cr. not to mention differing time zones etc. :\

Multiple people who might have been interested in Thusia have been immediately turned off by the AC. Most games don't require near as much. Its "fast pace" feels forced because of this AC and anyone who is slower than super fast or dependent on back-tagging (whether due to work, school, timezones, or other reasons) is left in the dust.

I wanted to play in this game. I really did. But until they pull their head out of their arse with this "WELL I CAN MAKE THAT AC" thing and lower the amount of comments needed, I can't play in it. I just don't have the time.

I'm a relatively new Thusia player and frankly due to the nature of the tagging culture (lots of very short tags), I think it's very easy to get AC. Honestly I don't want a bunch of people joining who couldn't make AC, especially as it's just been revised. People making a lot of slowly-tagged, short threads would really effect the culture of the game.

Remember that Thusia is part of a very small number of games with this kind of tagging culture. Almost every game out there is friendly to slow tagging and short threads, so if you know in advance that you're going to tag in a very different way from the rest of the player base, don't go into the game and expect it to change to suit you. Go join one of the many other games that already suit you.

This isn't to say that there's anything wrong with the slower, backtag-forever cultures either. I'm in games that work that way and I play that way in those games. But Thusia doesn't work that way and frankly I think expecting the whole game to change to accommodate a completely different style is no different from asking a survival horror game to change their rules to let you opt out of anything violent. There's a time and place for every type of rp, and Thusia is not the place for backtagging slowly and accumulating a ton of 6-comment threads.

okay you know what, i was the person who disliked the mod's comment about "well I have no issue with it", but i think i will take that back now and agree with you

she did say that, but then she said that she'd talk to the other mods, and clearly adjustments were made. it looks like this new AC is pretty manageable. it's high compared to most other games, but in most other games the AC req's are so low you have to pretty much actively try to idle out. i've been in games where i tagged maybe twice a week and i'd still pass!

honestly, i agree that any reasonably active player should be able to pass this AC. and if they really cannot, there are a number of other games that have slower requirements, as you said.

I don't think comparing an AC requirement to a game's setting is fair at all, but whatever. "Tagging culture" is such a self-important term.

okay, "not everyone wants to play at one tagging speed so they made their own game for theirs".

Bit more unwieldy than tagging culture, but there we go.

This.

Honestly, there are a million slow games out there if you prefer slower games. It's okay to prefer slower games. But some people prefer faster games, and that's also okay.

A lot of the complaints about AC seem to amount to HOW DARE THIS GAME NOT CATER TO ME. Well, you're right that it probably doesn't cater to you, but it doesn't have to. Trust me, if you want a game with easy AC requirements, you have 90% of DWRP on your side. Some people want a fast game, and Thusia is here for those people.
