Tifa reserved Buffy. Time to take a page out of Atarax's book and band together to contact the mods and hopefully cockblock this from becoming a reality.

If we come together we can win.

As much as I'm rooting for you guys, one of the mods is a friend of some of the Tifa crew.

That doesn't mean anything necessarily. I'm a friend of some of Tifa's friends. I still don't like her.

the things i would do the keep this from becoming a reality. scorched has enough problems without fucking tifa charging in to wreck everything else.

Hopefully she'll learn from Atarax and not be like "ZOMG BUFFY HAS TO BE THE SPESHULEST EVER".

I'd like to hope that, but I doubt it'll happen. Tifa never changes, no matter what issues are raised with her playing style.

check the faq for the new zombie game, "dead weight", where she still lists buffy as being just below god tier in terms of power.

I don't see her using the term "just below". There is plenty of room between "stronger than a vampire" and "weaker than god-tier".

Didn't Ariel give her permission? Any deets on what actually went down?

Ariel gave her permission to app, not as a mod, but as the previous Buffy player. I imagine Tifa inquired to be polite, since Ariel only dropped Buffy about a month or so ago, although she'd been character squatting on her for a few months before that, and obviously her permission means she never intended to reapp.

However the Scorched mods have also said that if a mod is likely to be biased (because the character apped is a close castmate, or was previously played by the mod, I assume?) then they sit out the discussion.

i really like the giles there and the player is really friendly, but ngl i am just a little irrationally mad that tifa's latched onto them and is now evidently following them to every game like an std

at least the tournament plot's being held before apps so we don't have to deal with buffy winning every round

can't wait to see what other powers she gets from the mist aside from her "canon" 'stronger than everyone', 'faster than everyone', and 'better fighter than everyone' powers

I think the mods here have an excellent grasp on proportionate powers — all Ariel really does with her spare time is argue about what character is stronger than what other, and she always called Buffy the weakest of her line-up.

That said, Scorched doesn't nerf powers at all and there are plenty of god-tier characters in play (Isley, Kenpachi) as well as plenty of mod deus ex machina to make sure everyone stays in line. Extreme powers have always been the biggest reason for revisions requests (aside from wordcount).

They've let other much bigger name wankers into the game before and handled it just fine. Scorched even states in its documents that it gives people a chance rather than turning them away on "known wanker" grounds, and Tifa's main sin seems to be that she a) likes her character to be the strongest, b) has a lot of friends who she likes to app with, and c) gets a little insecure when her anon grudgewankers go all mob mentality every time she wants to app somewhere.

Basically I think you're full of shit and should sit the fuck down and let the mods handle it.
