this. so much this. i have no interest in holly heights, but i still actually feel bad for the place for getting "mayfield rippoff" slack when it's not the rip-off, that award belongs to heavenly hills. which even comes with a mod who plays inara over AT mayfield.

so fucking classy. at least holly heights came up with some original ideas and isn't an excuse to mod mayfield themselves. but no, they couldn't stop at copying mayfield, they even went and got themselves an HH name like holly heights. wtf really? there's so many levels of uncool with that game. so many.

It has a midcentury suburban setting with elements of horror, though. That brief description fits both Mayfield and Heavenly Hills. The latter even has the vintage artwork. It's pretty obvious the two are similar.

That being said from what I've seen in the owners plurks, they didn't even know about Holly Heights until they'd already made their community.

And yeah, maybe it is like Mayfield with it having a 50's setting, but when is having the same sort of setting a crime? Any game considering being on an island better not do it! There are already two of them out there, don't want to be a copy-cat.

how the fuck is it 'not whiteknighting' if you were referring to 'the owners plurks' under anon? you ARE one of the game owners. if you intended to log in, you wouldn't be talking about yourself from the perspective of an outsider. when you reposted, you changed your view from 'someone observing the owners' to 'i'm a mod'.

that is the weakest, most pathetic excuse i've ever seen for anonfail. you've contradicted yourself and pretty much fessed up to it in the process. just admit that you were anonymously whiteknighting your game instead of trying watery bullshit excuses that don't fly at all.

As one of the mods in Heavenly Heights, I don't even know where you're getting the rip-off part. It's set in the 50's and they all get some sort of 50's clothing? Because that's ABOUT the only thing that the two games have in common.

As to the name? Yeah, we'd already made the communities by the time we found out that the two games would both be HH.

Your game is a rip off.

The premise of Mayfield is a jamjar in a 50s setting where you are assigned houses. The premise of Heavenly Hills is for the most part the same. The 50s setting is really unique. If there was something obviously, clearly distinct about your game from Mayfield, that might be different. But there's not. You can't possibly be so blind as to really not know where the accusations of being a rip off are coming from.

Fortunately, your game is already a joke.

On that note, if you drop your character please go to the drop page and say so there. If you don't do that then the mods won't process your drop until after AC ends and it's the same as idling out.

I've never understood planning to idle. If you're planning to leave, just leave.

It's been a pain in the past when I was trying to contact someone for housing position and they were planning to idle and thus not looking at their PMs.
