And you need to acknowledge that it's everyone's right to go as DEEP or as shallow as they want to into the canon. Especially considering Nasu's narrative style.

F/Z can actually stand on its own easily without knowing Fate. Almost all the surviving cast (read: Those known in F/SN) are almost character 180s save for Gilgamesh and Saber.

Fate can stand on its own without actually knowing Tsukihime.

Kara no Kyoukai can stand on its own without knowing any of the later works.

KNOWING this shit in a collective only comes to issue if one wants in on all the in-jokes (which run rampant in the spinoffs and sequels. But each project stands on its own. Hell, you don't even need to know Fate/Stay Night to really enjoy Fate/EXTRA. Just be prepared for none of the F/E rules to apply to F/SN is all.

inb4 what about the Materials. Only those of us who couldn't put down Fuyuki, Beast Lair, or 4chan really give a shit about little tidbits like the Five Magics, Rhastrad Lancer(s), Touko giving Shirou a spare body, Karen & Bazett being characters initially slated for Tsuki 2, etc. You don't need this knowledge to enjoy the canon(s). It just adds spice is all.

I'm playing it myself (got it for free via WoW annual pass - might as well take advantage of it), but only two people on my timeline are playing D3 and only one of the two is actually plurking about it.

I don't like plurk either, but your second reason is actually why I did get one. It's not impolite to just walk away from plurk conversations whenever you feel like it, so when I'm done talking to a person I don't have to continue to be badgered by them. I sort of traded demons but I still prefer it to aim and especially aim chats.

It's also great when the excuse they give you is that they're just too busy with RL to play any of the characters that have CR with yours yet they keep plurking about all the fun they're having playing a new character in a meme and how they want to app them into another game.

Are they just that stupid that they forget I can see their plurks or are they buttmad about something and being PA about it by rubbing in my face how much fun they're having with other people or what?

And then they wonder why I prioritize the people who actually play with me over the ones who just make me empty promises.

tbh I only have a plurk so I can keep up with friends who live in different time zones or have different schedules than me. I used to be able to just chat with them on AIM, but now that we have actual responsibilities and Real Adult Schedules we have to keep up with, we just can't stay up as stupidly late as we used to.

the mom thing is fun and cute. it's good for us not to be entirely a hate comm

do you play only for ships? do you ignore what's actually in canon and pass off your headcanon as canon to justify your ships? or do you you work within canon and take the necessary time and cr to build up a ship that would be ooc if you just jumped into it immediately?

if you do the last one then only a few people will bitch about you but no one else will care. that same game had a ship that was rushed but otherwise was decently ic, respecting that you can't just throw two characters together just because you like them. everyone complains about mini and chris for a reason, because they're playing calvinball with the canon to make their ships happen and fuck any of their canonmates who have to rp around it. if you're going to do that then musebox or memory loss game.

If OP really is one of Mini's whiteknights...that poor girl. From what I've read, they're not only using her as an example for their ~personal crusade against cyberbullying~ but now they tried to throw a person they probably don't even know under the bus. How awful.
