I've had this problem myself even after telling people I don't like to talk much OOC but am open for RP plotting. Some people really are that pushy. I have a hard time imagining someone being as angry about this as OP if they hadn't tried to tell people to back off first.

It gets irritating when people are nosy and try to push you to plurk and chat. I can empathize. I don't get that mad about it, but I can see where they might be coming from.

I was spanked as a kid. I didn't grow up to be some sort of raging monster who believes violence is a solution to anything. I'd say up until around 30 years ago a large percentage of the world's population grew up with corporal punishment. They didn't all become raging violent maniacs who turn to violence to solve their problems.

Your statement is far too broad and sweeping and doesn't take into consideration the fact that part of proper use of corporal punishment involves talking to the child and explaining what happened and why after the fact. The people who are violent offenders in prison didn't get that way just from being spanked by their parents.

Eh. I've never meant to be condescending, sometimes I can come off as abrasive, it's not my intention but I can't argue that might be how it seems. I find often enough that if I just do something as simple as disagree with people it pisses them off. lmfao.

I guess the thing is I never saw any harm in arguing points or ideas, and never take it personally, but if it bothers people by all means-- say something. Tell me to shut up. Had I known I had bothered anyone I would have, I try my best to be nice so it's kinda sad to see people writing this kinda stuff, but yanno-- what can I do?

I don't recall backpeddling on anything, with the one time in which I said "Oh, well I guess I must have been wrong" because, alas I am not perfect and I have a shitty memory.

And yeah, I haven't played Charles in a while because of personal reasons I needed a break-- but I still love him and want to play him. I just don't like to complain about things that breach that rather personal line on plurk or things like that because I know many people have friended me for RP sake and do not care about my personal life.

Anyway, yeah, if I'm a dick I'm sorry, usually. I can't say always because sometimes it's true and I'm just an asshole. Happens.
